Today we provided the transport for Carine & Dudley, they used 3 of our cars for their bridal party of 16 people! Carine and her flower girls were in our Regent Landaulet In Black And Ivory, the bridesmaids were in our Regent Landaulet In Silver and Dudley and the boys were in our Regent Landaulet In Silver With Wired Wheels. The service took place at the New Testament Church of God – The Rock in Hockley, then on to The Lakeside Conference Centre at Aston University for the reception. What a lovely couple and a great day for it. Carine wanted to be late(as most brides do), however rather than the usual 5 or 10 minutes it was urmmmm……… a little longer! I’m sure Dudley was sweating a little, well we knew there was concern as there were around half a dozen incoming phone calls on our 15 minute journey from Great Barr to Hockley! All was good in the end and Carine looked stunning, albeit a little later than expected. Thanks for choosing Love Wedding Cars, here’s to many happy years together.
April comes to a conclusion on Tuesday and it has been our busiest month to date. We’ve been busy on many fronts, which in the months to come should bring its rewards. The wedding season has well and truly started and we’ve had cars out all but 1 weekend and we’ve attended 3 wedding fayres. The month started relatively quietly with Easter but following the bank holiday’s we haven’t stopped! Enquiries have been coming in on a very regular basis, not only enquires for this year and next year but also one for the year after; 2015! And not only was it just an enquiry it turned into a booking, so both of our silver cars will be out on Saturday 27th June, 2015! The wedding fayres we’ve been to have all been very productive, we’ve exhibited in Great Barr, Birmingham City Centre and today Coleshill, compliments must go to the organisers who put in months of work to ensure good turnouts at their events.
Looking ahead to May we’ve cars out every weekend as well as 2 fayres, which are at Wolverhampton Registry Office(11th May) and Grimscote Manor(12th May). Bring it on!!!
March has been a really busy month for us; we attended 4 wedding fayres, our cars have been out on several occasions, it’s rained, it’s snowed and it’s been cold! We attended fayres this month in Solihull, Edgbaston and two in Sutton Coldfield. The month started at the Regency Corus Hotel in Solihull, then following a weekend off we attended our first fayre at Edgbaston Cricket Ground which was hosted by Heart Radio. This was our busiest fayre for a while; we had lots of enquiries both on the day and in the subsequent days. We finished the month with two fayres in Sutton Coldfield, firstly at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall then at Aston Wood Golf Club, although both of these fayres were a lot lower key than Edgbaston they were both very productive for us.
All of the weddings we’ve had this month have been weather affected! Mainly the rain but last week we were having to plough through the snow, at the end of March! Our first April wedding is next Wednesday, and at this stage the forecast is looking good, well it doesn’t look like it’ll be snowing or raining! Before then it is time to get involved in the Easter fun, now where are my Eggs?
After placing an advert with Central Weddings we were invited to provide the car editorial for the Spring/Summer magazine, we thought about it for half a second and then called back to confirm we’d be very keen to do it! We are really pleased with the result and despite it only hitting the magazine stands in the last week we are already getting enquiries. Our thanks for her support and for asking us go to Cheryl at Central and Independent News and Media.
Today we provided the wedding transport for Kate & Greg, they chose our Regent Landaulet In Black And Ivory with navy blue ribbons & bows. Despite the unwelcome rain they had a great day, as usual we were prepared with our umbrellas! They loved the “cute” windscreen wipers and thought the champagne was excellent; despite the short journey from the church to Packington Moor they finished it with about 30 seconds to spare! All the very best for the future Kate & Greg and thank you for chosing Love Wedding Cars.
We are getting to know lots of great contacts as we continue to build relationships within the wedding industry. Someone who we have seen in action and we would like to personally recommend is Keith Prescott; a Wedding Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies. Keith has a great personality and is one those people you can’t help but like. He has many years of experience and adds a touch of class to any event he is invovled in. As well as weddings, he is also is able to assist with Civic Occasions, Charity events, Fund raising Gala nights and all types of Corporate occasions. Keith can be contacted via www.suttoncoldfieldtoastmasters.co.uk or 0121 378 4457.
Today we spread ourselves across two fayres for the first time. We had a car at The Grimstock Country House Hotel In Gilson Near Coleshill and a car at The Holiday Inn M6 Junction 10, Walsall. To be honest though we could have attended in excess of six fayres today! I think today must be the most popular day in the calendar for wedding fayres, I guess as it is a good few weeks after Christmas and a fair few weeks before the wedding season gets into full swing. We found both fayres OK but not as busy as we had hoped, probably due to the amount of fayres taking place. This weekend has been our busiest yet with two fayres today and one yesterday, all three fayres have led to bookings for us, more so for 2014 rather than 2013….. so if you’re getting married in 2013 please get in touch for a great deal and the promise we will not be beaten on price.
Today we exhibited at Hornton Grange which is part of the Birmingham University complex. It’s a superb venue and although less than a mile from the UK’s second largest city it has a real “country” feel about it. The website (www.venuebirmingham.com/meet/horntongrange) describes it a lot better than I can “It is an Edwardian style residence which stands in attractive and peaceful gardens and retains a wealth of features, from its impressive oak-panelled reception and bar to its ornate ceilings, mouldings and archways. All have been tastefully restored to enhance every feature”. The fayre hosted around 20 exhibitors and attracted in the region of 50 brides, we received a number of enquiries, including several for 2013, which were most welcome!
Last night we exhibited at The Castle Hotel in Tamworth. The wedding fayre was organised by Outside The Box Photography who are based in Glascote, Tamworth. As is often the case with evening wedding fayres it started at 6pm and finished at 9pm, the majority of the people though attend in the first hour or so. As expected the first hour was very busy and we had a really good flow of enquiries, it slowed down after 7pm but the fayre remained busy until well gone 8pm. The Castle Hotel is a really nice venue and, as you may have guessed(!), in very close proximity of the castle. We enjoyed our first wedding fayre in Tamworth, to the extent we have already booked to exhibit at the next fayre at The Castle Hotel, which is Wednesday 25th September 2013, put it in your diary!
Today we attended the Lichfield Gazette Wedding Fayre at The Cathedral Lodge Hotel. The hotel is superbly located within a few hundred yards of one of Staffordshires most famous landmarks. The hotel is currently going through some modernisation as the new owners look to take advantage of the prime location. We haven’t exhibited in Lichfield before and it presented us with some areas that we’ve not had exposure to before, to name but a few; Alrewas, Branston, Fradley and Newton Regis. The fayre was steady and not one of the busiest we’ve been to in recent weeks but I expect it to be one when there were good quality enquiries rather than quantity, time will tell! After the fayre we quickly had a look at The Cathedral and took a couple of photos. We’ve a couple of bookings for Lichfield Cathedral in 2014 but none yet for 2013, so if your getting married this year at Lichfield Cathedral……… 0121 378 5090 or email@example.com
