The rain today didn’t dampen the spirits of the ever hardy Wedding Fayre goers in Sutton Coldfield. Kerry and Sue provided exhibitors with a superb opportunity to showcase their talents with an excellent flow of brides throughout the 5 hours. The fayre was one of the more varied that we have attended; a couple of the more interesting exhibitors inside were the caricature artist and slimming world! Outside our new umbrellas were put through their paces and I’m pleased to report back they all passed a tough test. On to the hat-trick. We spoke to at least half a dozen people today who had completed what we are calling The Wedding Fayre Hat-Trick; Swinfen Hall Hotel, Moor Hall Hotel and The Ramada Birmingham Sutton Coldfield. All 3 venues had Wedding Fayres today, and not only were the brides to be completing the feat some of the grooms to be were also involved, superb! In summary it was another great day for us, lots of enquiries and quite a variety; ranging from next month right through to December 2014. Right, best get cracking, aiming to get all the quotes out this evening by midnight, unlike last week!
Yesterday we attended what is consistently the largest Wedding Fayre in the West Midlands; The Midland Wedding Show at The Belfry. Every February and September the Midlands leading wedding exhibitors descend on one of the worlds most famous sporting venues. Closely following the exhibitors are the forever smiling brides to be with the not so smiling husbands to be. Who I am though to criticise the husbands to be? How many wedding fayres did I attend when I was getting married? It was less than 2, but more than 0, I had to go and look at where I was getting married!
The day was a long one, after a busy Saturday getting prepared Sunday kicked off before 7am. We had both cars in position and decorated by 7:30am, we then set up our internal stand and had breakfast. As the opening of the show approached the car park was filling up nicely and with the incentive of discounted entry before 12:00pm the queue to enter was in excess of 30 people for the first couple of hours. Over 500 brides attended the show, a phenomenal amount in just 5 and a half hours. Busy shows lead to busy Sunday evenings; every enquiry we received had a quotation sent via email the same day(well not quite, the last quotation left my outbox at 1:59am this morning!).
Thankfully today has been a little less hectic, apart from several people confirming bookings, thank you to them, your business is really appreciated. My final deed of the day was to confirm our place at the next Midland Wedding Show at The Belfry; Sunday 15th September 2013, put it in your diary! I can’t wait for it and another 20 hour day!
We have just been advised that the Wedding Fayre due to take place tomorrow at Lea Marston Hotel and Spa(Haunch Lane, Lea Marston, Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, B76 0BY) has been postponed due to the adverse weather. Apologies to anyone that was planning to come along. We will though be available all day tomorrow via phone, email and our website; 0121 378 5090 / email@example.com / www.loveweddingcars.co.uk/contact for anyone who would like to either check availability or obtain a quote. We will advise of the rescheduled date as soon as we know. Our next fayre is on Sunday 27th January at The National Motorcycle Museum(The Museum and And Conference Banqueting Complex, Coventry Road, Bickenhill, Solihull, West Midlands, B92 0EJ).

We have just been advised that this Sunday’s Wedding Fayre at; Kingsbury Country Club, Coventry Road, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B78 2LP has been cancelled. Apologies to anyone that was coming along, we will though be at The Aston Wood Golf Club Wedding Fayre on Tuesday Evening; Aston Wood Golf Club, 132 Blake Street, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands B74 4EU. The show is from 17:30 to 21:00, and this will be our final Wedding Fayre of 2013.
We hope to be able to exhibit our Wedding Cars at either Kingsbury Country Club or another Tamworth location in the very near future, although this now isn’t likely until early 2013. If anyone would like to view our cars in the next few weeks and is unable to get along to Aston Wood Golf Club please get in touch as we are more than happy to arrange viewings.
Today we attended the Wedding Fayre hosted by Pretty Unique Events at George Fentham Hall in Hampton-in-Arden. “Hampton” is a beautiful village with the focal point the impressive SS Mary & Bartholomew Church which is on the High Street at the top of the hill. Before the Fayre started I watched the Remembrance Parade pass through the village in the bright winter sunshine. It was great to see such a wide age range remember those who sacrificed their lives so we are able to live as we do.
George Fentham Hall is licenced to hold Civil Ceremonies and is quite a large venue; it is able to accomodate up to 200 guests plus it has a great outdoor area which looks onto the countryside. We’ve been to Hampton-in-Arden exhibiting our wedding cars twice in the last 3 weeks and it’s truly a great place for a wedding. I’m sure we will be back again very, very soon!
Today we were at the Ramada Solihull Wedding Fayre. This was the first time I’ve been to this hotel and I was really impressed. The hotel still has some original features from 16th-century Tudor times, as well as all the mod cons! A couple of key features stood out for me; firstly the bowling green area, ideal for the summer months and a perfect space for the young wedding guests to run wild, it may also be useful for the older drunk wedding guests! Secondly was the friendliness of the staff, we’ve found at some of the bigger chain hotels that the staff don’t have the passion you find at some of the smaller/independent hotels, that wasn’t the case here and I am sure that comes across to couples who consider the venue for their big day.
We found the Fayre of benefit for 3 reasons; firstly we were able to establish a relationship with one of Solihull’s leading wedding venues, secondly we were met a number of fellow exhibitors who we hope we can work in partnership with and last but not least we met a number of couples looking for wedding car hire. Talking of couples looking for wedding car hire; time for me to get some quotes put together.
Yesterday we attended the Wedding Fayre at Hampton Manor. In my opinion this is one of the best venue’s in the Midlands, it really is perfect. Why? Everything it about it, I can’t find a fault with it! The Fayre as we expected was very busy, it had been marketed exceptionally well and at some stages there was a queue of couples at the door. There was a good range of exhibitors, I particularly liked the bands who were showcasing some serious talent; http://www.functionfever.co.uk/ and http://www.theacoustic.co.uk/. Although 2 very different musical options I can see both working really well. Anyway it’s Monday morning so I’m off car cleaning! Have a good week.
Today we attended the Vintage Chic Wedding Fair, which was held at the Centennial Centre in Edgbaston, Birmingham. This is a Fair we have been looking forward to since we booked it, of course we went there to try secure business but also knew it would be a good opportunity to network with fellow vintage exhibitors. The flow of people throughout the day was fairly steady although it was a little slow at the start, due to the half marathon. A lot of people travelling from or via the South side of the City had to endure some really difficult journeys, so a special thanks to those people who made the effort. It was interesting to find out that some couples had travelled from as far afield as Hampshire and Wales to attend the fair, that’s some dedication to the vintage theme!
Another superb Sunday in the sun! We had a really good day at Highbury Hall in Moseley, Birmingham. A lovely venue and was really suited to our fleet of cars, a lot of people commented as to how well the two worked together. Highbury Hall is about 3 miles outside of the city centre and council run. A lot of people chose the venue as it not only looks great but is exceptional value for money, no wonder the council can’t afford wheelie bins!!! Sam and her team work hard all year round towards the annual Wedding Fayre, and it show today; there were in excess of 300 people in attendance! The 3 cat walk shows on the hour worked really well(although I didn’t get to see any of them!) as it meant the flow of people was consistent through out the day. Looking forward to the next fayre at Highbury Hall already!
Today’s Fayre was better than expected, I think due to the weather, it was beautiful. From the start at 11am through to mid afternoon there was a good steady flow of couples. The vast majority were getting married at The Roman Way Hotel, a wise choice. The hotel certainly looked after exhibitors well today; Sophie who hosted the event was excellent as were her colleagues who helped out, although I didn’t meet him(or her!) compliments to the chef, a cracking lunch. Anyway, back to business; we had lots of enquiries including quite a few for 2014, best get on with getting some quotes out.
